Belgium beat Romania to register first win at Euro 2024

Belgium shook off the shock of losing to Slovakia in its opening game of the European Championship by beating Romania 2-0 on Saturday.

Youri Tielemans gave Belgium the perfect start when he curled home a superb opener inside the first two minutes.

Kevin De Bruyne doubled the lead in the second half with a clinical finish, as Belgium secured their first win of the tournament.

The win takes Belgium top of Group E, ahead of Slovakia on goal difference.

Belgium will now face Russia in their final group game on Monday, while Romania will take on Slovakia.

Belgium's win over Romania was a much-needed boost for the team after their disappointing defeat to Slovakia in their opening game.

Tielemans and De Bruyne were both in excellent form, and their goals proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Belgium will now be confident of topping Group E and reaching the knockout stages of the tournament.
